Recipe for "Crumpet"
Ingredients for 12 portions
warm milk
300 ml
dry fast yeast
4 g
sugar
50 g
salt
1 tsp
egg
1 pc.
butter
50 g
flour
500 g
vegetable oil
900 ml
powdered sugar for sprinkling
to taste
Step 1/7
Add yeast to the milk, 2 tsp. Sugar and mix until dissolved. Leave for 10 minutes.
Step 2/7
Add the remaining sugar, salt, beat in the egg and whisk well.
Step 3/7
Tip in most of the flour and start kneading the dough, then add the remaining flour and continue kneading. Pour in the melted butter in a thin stream and knead until smooth.

Leave the dough in a bowl for 1 hour, then wrinkle it and let rest for another 30 minutes.

Divide the dough into 12 equal parts, roll balls out of them, cover with a film and leave for 10 minutes. Then form a "bagel" from each piece and let the dough stand for another 20 minutes.

Preheat the oil and fry the crumpets until golden brown on both sides.
Step 7/7
Place the finished crumpets on paper napkins to remove excess oil. Sprinkle over the icing sugar and serve.
