The classic charlotte is a cake made of stale bread soaked in milk or even water, and not the usual version with pastry. If you like croutons, then you will most likely like it.

Recipe "Classic Charlotte with Apples"
Ingredients for 6-8 servings
Simirenko apples
5 pcs (400g)
sliced loaf
300g
butter
for lubrication
honey
50 g
eggs
4 pcs.
kefir
400 ml
cinnamon
to taste
Step 1/9
Cut the crusts off the bread.
Step 2/9
Peel and core the apples, cut into slices.
Step 3/9
Grease the baking dish with butter, put the bottom and walls with pieces of bread.

Top with the apples.

In a bowl, combine the honey and kefir, add the eggs and a pinch of cinnamon. Mix everything well with a whisk.

Cut the crusts of bread into small pieces and place on top of the apples.

Soak the remaining slices of bread with a mixture of kefir, eggs and honey, put on top.

Fill everything with egg-kefir mixture.

Place the charlotte in the oven preheated to 180C and bake for 35-40 minutes.
