Larks used to be baked in villages on the day of the spring equinox on March 22. And since this day usually fell on the post, the dough was made lean. Ready-made birds were "planted" on the window and showed the sun, inviting spring. Children especially liked such pastries.
Try baking larks and you. If you do not observe the fast, you can add 2 eggs to the dough or replace the vegetable oil with melted butter to make the dough more rich. You can also add spices to the dough - cinnamon, cardamom, vanilla or lemon zest. Or even use ready-made yeast dough to minimize cooking.
