Scottish eggs can be served as a hearty hot dish or taken cold for a picnic, as English people often do. Most often they are cooked deep-fried, but we suggest baking in the oven, as it will definitely turn out more useful.

Scottish Eggs in the Oven recipe
Ingredients for 5 servings
chicken eggs
7 pcs.
minced beef and pork
400 g
onions shallot
2 pcs.
ground coriander
pinch
nutmeg
pinch
parsley and dill
a few twigs
wheat flour
2 tbsp. spoons
breadcrumbs
1 tbsp. spoon
vegetable oil
1 tbsp. spoon
salt
0.5 tsp
freshly ground black pepper
to taste

Bring 5 eggs to a boil and remove from the heat, cool in cold water.
Step 2/5
Finely chop the shallots and fry in vegetable oil until clear. Crush dill and parsley.
Step 3/5
Add onions, herbs, spices, flour, salt and pepper to minced meat, break up two raw eggs. Stir until smooth.

Gently peel the boiled eggs. Divide the minced meat into 5 identical balls, each flattened into a small cake. Put a whole egg in the center of each, carefully wrap in minced meat so that you get round cutlets. Roll in breadcrumbs.

Place on a greased baking tray and bake in an oven preheated to 180C for about 25 minutes.
