Peel and boil the potatoes until tender. Push with a pusher and salt.

Cut the onion into medium-sized pieces. Preheat a frying pan with 2 tbsp. l. vegetable oil, put the onion and fry until transparent for 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Sift the flour into a bowl. Add ½ tsp salt and mix. Make a recess in the center, slowly pour hot water there and knead. For 300 g of flour, you need about a glass of water (the exact amount depends on the flour and water, so if necessary, add a little more flour or water, focusing on the consistency of the dough).

Knead the dough by hand or with a mixer with a hook attachment until elastic, the dough should not stick to your hands.

Put the dough in a bowl, cover with cling film and leave to rest for about 20-30 minutes.

Add fried onions to potatoes and mix until the components are combined.

Dust the work surface with flour. Roll out the dough into a layer 3-4 mm thick. Cut out circles about 6-7cm in diameter with a cookie cutter.

Put about 1 tsp on each round. filling, fold the circle in half and seal the edges well.

Fold a piece of dough from the edge towards the center of the dumpling and press well. Repeat until pattern. Mold the rest of the dumplings in the same way.

Boil water in a large saucepan, salt. Put the dumplings in a saucepan, stir and cook until they pop up. As they surface, cook for another 7-8 minutes. Serve the dumplings hot, garnished with fried onions.
