It is believed that the classic tom yam is prepared without coconut milk, while the most popular and tasty option in our opinion is still with coconut milk. Also, traditionally, tom yam is served with boiled rice: it helps to reduce the sharpness of the soup and makes it more satisfying.

Recipe "Tom Yam"

Ingredients for 4 servings

tom yam soup kit (lemongrass stems, galangal root, kaffir lime leaves, chilli)
1 pack
pasta tom yam
60 g
shiitake
300g
shrimp royal
120-150 g
squid, frozen rings
200 g
mussels boiled-ice cream
200-250g
cilantro
for filing
coconut milk
500 ml
chicken broth
1 L
lime
1 pc or to taste
boiled rice

Defrost the seafood and stock if using frozen. Pour the stock into a saucepan. In addition to chicken, you can use shrimp broth, fish or plain water.

Add the shiitake mushrooms and tom yam paste.

Put one whole lemongrass stalk and one chopped into a saucepan. Add 4 sheets of kaffir lime, galangal root (all from the set, you can cut it if you wish), seafood.

Pour in the coconut milk.

Juice half the lime or to taste. Bring everything together to a boil over medium heat and warm for about 2 minutes more. You can add chillies to taste.
