"1000 Islands" is a traditional sauce of American and Canadian cuisines based on mayonnaise and ketchup. It's great for fish and seafood. In America and Canada, it is often used for dressing salads, but can also be served with chicken, country potatoes, added to hot dogs and shawarma.

Recipe "Sauce "1000 islands""
Ingredients for 4-6 servings
tomato ketchup
70 g
mayonnaise
200 g
egg
1 pc.
onions
1 pc (50g)
salt
to taste
hot pepper
1 pc.
cucumbers gherkins
50 g
olives
5 pcs.
freshly ground black pepper
pinch
Step 1/4
Put the yolk in the bowl of the blender. It is better to use raw, with it the sauce will turn out smoother, but you can take boiled. Add mayonnaise and ketchup.
Step 2/4
Cut gherkins into several parts. Roughly chop the onion. Put the gherkins and onion on top of the rest of the ingredients.
Step 3/4
Add salt, pepper, olives.
Step 4/4
Grind with a blender until smooth - and the 1000 Islands sauce is ready.
