Break the chocolate into a mug. Traditionally, bitter is used, but you can try dairy or combine both types.

In a saucepan, bring water with spices to a boil (cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, hot pepper are suitable, a ready-made spice mixture for coffee and tea will fit perfectly) or milk. Pour the hot liquid over the chocolate (use a strainer if cooking with spices) and stir quickly until all the chocolate has melted and turned into a smooth emulsion.

You can add honey, date syrup or agave syrup to the finished hot chocolate, any vegetable milk to your taste. Drink small swallows and enjoy!
