Juicy and appetising meatballs are easy to cook in the oven. Remember to add the celery, it works well with the tomato sauce and is nicely crunchy in the finished dish. Instead of haddock, you can take cod or other white fish.

Defrost the fish in advance in the refrigerator or half an hour before cooking in cold water, without opening the package. Wash the thawed fish, remove the rest of the fins, if any.

Grind the onion and fry in vegetable oil until golden brown. You can skip this step and add raw onions to the minced meat, it just turns out tastier with fried ones.

Roughly chop the haddock, put in a blender. Add an egg, bread without crusts and fried or raw onions, salt and pepper, punch everything into the minced meat. You don't have to soak the bread in milk, since there will certainly be enough liquid in the thawed fish.

Mold round meatballs and place in a roasting tin. Place in an oven preheated to 220 ° C for 15-20 minutes.

Put the tomatoes from the jar in a saucepan, add salt and sugar. In 1 tbsp. a spoonful of cold water, stir the starch and add to the tomatoes. Warm the mixture, stirring and not bringing to a boil. Add chopped celery and sour cream, mix.

Pour the resulting meatballs sauce directly into the tin. Reduce the temperature to 180 ° C and bake for about 10 minutes more.
