Corn dogs are sausages in batter that are deep-fried. They are so called because the dough includes cornmeal, and corn in English - "corn" (corn). The layer of dough in this dish is thinner than in hot dogs; no cucumbers, onions, or sauces are added during cooking. At the same time, corn dogs are very tasty and will be a great treat at a picnic or party.

Corn Dogs Recipe
Ingredients for 8-10 servings
sausages (regular or with cheese )
8-10 pcs.
wheat flour
3-4 tbsp. l.
cornmeal
2 tbsp. l.
sugar
½ -1 tbsp
baking powder
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
eggs
2 pcs.
milk
250 ml
vegetable oil for deep-frying
1-1.5 L
ketchup and mustard
for filing
long wooden sticks
for frying sausages
Step 1/8
Break the eggs into a bowl. Pour in the milk and mix with a whisk until smooth.
Step 2/8
Continuing to interfere, add cornmeal, baking powder, salt, sugar. Blend until smooth so there are no lumps.
Step 3/8
Add the wheat flour and mix until combined with a whisk. Leave the dough for 15 minutes to disperse the flour.
Step 4/8
The dough should be the consistency of very thick sour cream. If necessary, add a little more flour and mix.
Step 5/8
While the dough is infusing, heat the deep-frying oil well. Readiness can be checked by dropping a drop of dough into the oil: if you start frying, the oil has warmed up enough. It is better to take a small saucepan with high walls so that the sausage fits into the oil completely or almost completely. Keep water out of the hot oil!
Step 6/8
Peel the sausages from the film, if any. Place each sausage on a wooden stick and dip in the dough so that it covers the sausage on all sides. This amount of dough is enough for 8 sausages of a standard size or 10 slightly smaller.
Step 7/8
Lower the sausage into the hot oil and fry for a few minutes until ruddy and tender.
Step 8/8
Place the finished corn dogs on a paper towel to absorb the excess fat. Serve with ketchup and mustard.
