Forshmak is a herring snack. In addition, the dish also includes eggs, onions and an apple. We have prepared a classic version of a home foreshmack, which will be a great snack for both a festive table and a regular family lunch or dinner.

green apple (small)

You can cut the herring yourself, or you can buy ready-made fillets and save time. For the festive table, prepare a double portion at once, too little is obtained from one herring.

Hard-boil the egg and cool, peel.

At the apple, remove the core and roughly chop. If the skin is hard, then it is better to clean the apple.

In a blender, put the egg, apple and half the herring fillets, cut into large chunks, add the butter and punch until almost smooth.

Cut the remaining half of the fillet into small cubes, mix with the resulting "minced meat." Such a herring foreshmack will be much more interesting in taste than completely homogeneous, and will certainly differ from the store one.

Add the finely chopped onion, pepper and mix well. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Serve the finished forshmak on pieces of Borodino bread, decorate with red caviar and herbs if desired.
