Empanadas is a dish native to Spain that is popular in all Latin American countries. These are small pies with different fillings: meat, cheese, vegetables or fruits. We were inspired by the Sims universe and decided to make empanadas with zesty ground beef.

Ingredients for 12-15 servings
flour
500 g
butter
100 g
eggs
2 pcs.
warm water
200 ml
salt
1 tsp
ground beef
2 pack. (700 g)
onions
2 pcs.
garlic
2 cloves
bell pepper red
1 pc.
Bulgarian green pepper
1 pc.
eggs for greasing
2 pcs.
salt
to taste
ground black pepper
to taste
Step 1/6
In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the butter, cut into small cubes, and the eggs. Start kneading the dough, gradually pouring in warm water until it is smooth and elastic. Roll into a ball, cover with a towel or cling film and leave to rest for 1 hour.

At this time, prepare the filling. Finely chop the onion and garlic. Finely dice the deseeded bell peppers.

In a deep pan, fry the vegetables until soft. Add minced meat, salt and pepper. Fry until meat is cooked. Then let the filling cool to room temperature.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Cut 10-12cm circles from the pastry, place the meat filling in the centre of each and lock the edges in a semicircle.

Take a fork around the contour of each patty for extra fixation and brush the blanks with a lightly beaten egg.

Bake the patties for 20 minutes until golden.
