Chak-chak is a traditional Tatar dessert. It is prepared for holidays, including weddings, in order to wish young people a sweet life and relationships as strong as chak-chak pieces molded with honey. But it's not just for special occasions to try this crunchy dessert - it will delight you with its flavour at any time .

Recipe " Chuck-chuck"
Ingredients for 6-8 servings

eggs (after freezing)

vodka
10 g
salt

vegetable oil

Step 1/10
Whisk the eggs, sugar and salt by hand until foamy. To beat the eggs for chak-chak well, we recommend freezing and thawing them beforehand.

Add milk and vodka, mix.

Gradually pour out the flour and knead the dough. Wrap it in a bag and put it away for 30-40 minutes.

Divide the dough in two. Roll out the first part and cut into strips. Repeat with the second part.

Prepare two baking trays, one lined with pastry foil and the other with a post-fryer pastry napkin.

Heat the oil and fry the dough in batches, stirring constantly. When the golden crust appears, take out the dough.

For the syrup, melt the honey, sugar and water in a saucepan over low heat. Check the readiness of the syrup with a dough with water on a soft ball.

Transfer the fried dough to a large bowl and pour over the syrup, stirring thoroughly with a spatula.

Moisten your hands in cold water, transfer the mass to a silicone mat or parchment, give the traditional chuck-chuck shape.

Leave the dessert for 3-4 hours to set.
